Compliance positioning

Compliance positioning

Verbitas provides infrastructure. Whether that infrastructure satisfies a specific regulatory obligation depends on your deployment context and qualified legal advice.

Language we use

  • “tamper-evident”
  • “provenance infrastructure”
  • “cryptographic linkage to origin”
  • “explainable verification states”
  • “machine-readable AI-generated assertions per C2PA 2.4”

Language we do not use

  • Phrases claiming absolute integrity (e.g. implying no transformation can ever alter provenance)
  • Phrases claiming regulatory compliance (e.g. “compliant with Article 50”)
  • Phrases claiming to prove or certify semantic truth about content
  • Adjectives applied to content that imply a truth judgement (“genuine”, “fraudulent”, etc.)

What we provide for regulatory purposes

Verbitas provides the technical layer that records ai_generated assertions in machine-readable C2PA manifests. Whether this satisfies a specific obligation under the EU AI Act, the UK AI Safety Act, or any other regulation requires:

  1. Qualified legal advice specific to your jurisdiction and deployment context
  2. Assessment of your specific obligations (not all deployers have Article 50 obligations)
  3. Review of your complete technical and organisational measures
