EU AI Act Article 50

EU AI Act — Article 50

Article 50 requires deployers of AI systems that generate synthetic content to label that content as AI-generated in a machine-readable format.

What Verbitas provides

Verbitas provides technical infrastructure for:

  1. C2PA manifests that record ai_generated assertions in a machine-readable format
  2. Durable watermarks that survive format conversion and platform upload/download cycles
  3. A public verifier that reads and displays those assertions

What we do not claim

Language we use

  • “tamper-evident provenance records”
  • “machine-readable AI-generated assertions per C2PA 2.4”
  • “cryptographic linkage to generation origin”

Language we do not use

  • Phrases implying regulatory compliance (e.g. “compliant with Article 50”)
  • Phrases implying certification of content truth
  • Phrases claiming proof of semantic content properties — we record assertions; we do not prove their truth
